API and MCP Connector Access

Perception provides a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that allows AI assistants and third-party applications to access our market intelligence data programmatically. When you connect via the MCP connector or API:

  • Authentication: Access is secured via OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. API keys are hashed (SHA-256) before storage; we never store plaintext keys.
  • Data accessed: All tools are read-only. The connector provides access to published article metadata, sentiment analysis, trend summaries, and market data from our curated public sources. No personal user data is exposed through the API.
  • Usage logging: We log tool invocations (tool name, latency, response size) for reliability and rate-limiting purposes. Logs are associated with anonymized key prefixes, not personal identifiers.
  • Rate limits: API access is subject to rate limits (60 requests/minute, 200 full-text retrievals/day) to ensure fair use and platform stability.
  • Third-party platforms: When you use the Perception connector through AI platforms (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT), those platforms' own privacy policies govern how they handle your queries and our responses.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Upon account termination, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where required by law to retain certain information.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses and adequacy decisions.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on our platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
